To get the gloves you will need both belladonna and bay leaves, and there is a puzzle for each.

For the belladonna, head west. Say "magic" and go west again. Say "treasure" and go north. Say "armor" and go east. Say "weapon" and you'll have belladonna and be back where you started.

Now for the bay leaves. Go east and sacrifice a magic item (like a recall scroll), then go east again. Sacrifice a treasure item (like the dragon statuette) and go north. Sacrifice an armor item (i.e. anything you can wear), go west. Sacrifice a weapon, pick up the bay leaves and go sw back to where you started.
