His neatly trimmed white beard and pot belly make him look quite jovial,

It's best to poison Lodd and wait a good 15 mins for him to soften up. He has a prog that damages everyone in the room, so keep an eye on the cleric(s). He also has a deathprog that either pops the cameo or destroys it - and if it's the latter, deals about 400 dmg to a random person. Logic suggests that it's a good idea to keep your group's HP up near the end of the fight. All spelldowns and spells and such work fine on Lodd, go for it.
